Employment Law

The firm’s lawyers have considerable expertise in the area of employment law, which has become increasingly complex as new federal, state and local statutes and regulations are enacted with regularity. Our employment law practice includes counseling clients on a wide variety of issues including employment discrimination, sexual harassment prevention, employment contracts, reductions in force (RIF’s), terminations, post-employment restrictive covenants and employee benefits. We have represented employers in cases before the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Hunan Rights, the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the New York State Department of Labor, the Florida Commission on Human Relations ard and other regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over workplace issues. One of the firm’s partners, Denise L. Altman, earned a certificate in Human Resource Management from San Francisco State University while practicing employment law in California.
