Arts & Entertainment
While every client is distinct, we recognize that artists must be free to develop, explore, and evolve in their art form throughout their careers. We strive to protect them from contracts that could restrict their artistic freedom or impinge on their rights to their own creations. We draft contracts for our clients across all aspects of their professional lives such as employment and independent contractor agreements, freelance agreements, performance and touring agreements, work for hire, and many more. We also review contracts that our clients are presented with and negotiate favorable terms on their behalf.
As artists, our clients are constantly creating new works of authorship and we are committed to safeguarding their rights to their creations through federal copyright registration. We regard every one of these creations as a current and future masterpiece, which may provide our client with a lifetime revenue stream and take all steps necessary to protect that creation.
We also encourage our clients to consider the value of their personal brand as artists and to register any trademarks associated with their product or service.
One of our partners, Denise Altman, has personally trained in the arts and served on the boards of two non-profit dance organizations. She has been an advocate and volunteer for arts education and services in her community for over twenty years.
